How long will Probate take?

Probate can often take anywhere from 1 to 4 months. It could take longer if the estate is complicated. Probate does require some laborious and highly detailed administration work.

When does the court grant probate?

As executor, you can apply to the Supreme Court for a grant of probate. The court will only issue the grant once it is satisfied that the will is the last will of the person who has died.

What happens after my application to the court is lodged?

After the application is lodged by us, court staff will examine the documents and, if everything is in order, they prepare the grant and post it to us.
